What is Shot Reverse Shot?

Shot reverse shot is a classic way of filming a conversation, filming over the shoulder of character 1 and character 2. It is usually used in a mid-shot.
How Is It used?

Shot reverse shot is a film technique where there characters are shown looking at each other. Each character says everything they need to say for the conversation in one shot, they will say one response and then wait five seconds and say the next response. The clips are then edited together to show the conversation of the characters.
